Alexis Margarethe Kipel is an American beauty pageant titleholder and high school math teacher. She is the current Miss South Dakota, and will represent her state at the 1st Miss USA Competition.

Life and careerEdit

Early lifeEdit

Kipel was born in Yankton, South Dakota to parents Joe and Bethany Kipel (née Schwartzberg). She is of German, Volga German, and Russian origin, and was raised a Lutheran. Joe works as a plumber, while Bethany is a housewife. Kipel grew up with three younger sisters, Katharine, Samantha , and Breanna.

Kipel attended public schooling in Yankton. She graduated from Yankton High School, where she played volleyball and softball. After graduating from high school, Kipel began studying at South Dakota State University, where she graduated with a degree in mathematics. Kipel received her master's degree in secondary education from South Dakota State, and works as a high school math teacher.

PageantryEdit

Kipel began her pageantry career while competing in the 1st Miss South Dakota Competition. She went on to win the competition, becoming Miss South Dakota. She will now represent South Dakota in the 1st Miss USA Competition.
